ABOUT EARTH HEART GROWERS
Currently, EHG garden classrooms serve 750 families in 4 Charleston County schools and are the root to EHG’s successful educational curriculum bridging science, nutrition, culinary expertise, business management and sustainability. EHG offers In-school gardening, cooking, baking, marketing lessons while emphasizing sustainable practices; cultivating habits in our future citizens that help improve the environment and develop healthy lifestyles. EHG also connects the Charleston School District with a local organic farm: Joseph Fields. Charleston’s youth have the opportunity to learn agriculture instruction from a 3rd generation local organic farmer. In addition, they manage, package and deliver the school wide CSA: The Healthy Basket.

Two garden classrooms are in need of refurbishment at this time: (1) at Malcolm C. Hursey Elementary School in North Charleston & (1) at Angel Oak on John’s Island. We are grateful to our amazing volunteers who’ve committed to donate their time and skills in the building out of the garden classrooms. Still… it is essential EHG gains financial support from the community in order to purchase supplies and sustain excellence in programming during this exciting time of growth.
