Patients span the entire age range. VHO is directed by a Ghanaian physician and many Ghanaian health care providers (physicians, physician assistants, nurses, social workers) serve. The VHO has oversight by the South Carolina nonprofit and Ghanaian NGO, <a href=\"https:\/\/projectokurase.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Project OKURASE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><u>ROLES OF VOLUNTEERS \u2013 IT\u2019S NOT NECESSARY TO BE MEDICALLY TRAINED TO BE INVOLVED<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If trained, volunteers may assist the Ghanaian providers, lab scientists, and nurses taking vitals and triage.
