Southern North Charleston<\/span>!<\/h2>\n

Do you know of a North Charleston area individual or group that’s interested in cultivating their gardening skills?<\/b> <\/p>\n

Urban Veggucation<\/a><\/b> believes that first hand exposure to low cost permaculture gardening practices is the best way to grow a new breed of organic gardeners.<\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span> In addition to managing Chicora Place Community Garden<\/a>, Urban Veggucation is partnering with Metanoia CDC<\/a> to establish eight new garden ambassadors in 2014!  We will tailor unique edible and ornamental garden spaces that our new ambassadors will learn how to manage. Our new resident garden experts will be required to invest in the cost of their new gardens but Metanoia<\/a> will generously subsidize 80% of those expenses!

A<\/span><\/span>mbassadors will take ownership of their space and engage their neighbors in the process.  They will receive hands-on practice and help us develop simple instructions (with pictures) that show individuals how to replicate our results.
<\/span>
<\/span> Food insecurity will decrease as more fresh produce will be available to the people who need it most. Our ambassadors will also help us identify individuals and families that have the most need for additional food and we can then direct the surplus from Chicora Place Community Garden<\/a> to those individuals.
<\/span>
<\/span> No gardening experience is required to become an Ambassador but preference will be given to groups. Gardens must be located in Metanoia’s service area.<\/p>\n
