One of the biggest factors driving these disparities is housing. A home is the most valuable thing many people will own. And buying a nicer home in a nicer neighborhood has always been the easiest way to climb up the socioeconomic ladder. And it is often challenged by predictably trite counterarguments: \u201cSlavery was so long ago.\u201d \u201cSo few people owned slaves.\u201d \u201cWhat about the Black people who owned slaves?\u201d \u201cThat\u2019s how it was back then.\u201d \u201cHow can you ask for reparations for something that was not a crime?\u201d<br \/>\nHowever, there is a more compelling argument that may be more irrefutable.
