\nCALL FOR ARTISTS<\/h3>\n
AWAKENING III: SOLSTICE is a collaborative arts experience that will transform\u00a0the corner at\u00a0Huger + Hanover Street into a vibrant mural featuring a\u00a0series of installations on\u00a0June 20th<\/span><\/span>. SOLSTICE seeks to\u00a0welcome light and illuminate darkness with\u00a0joyful collaboration. AWAKENING III: SOLSTICE was\u00a0born from\u00a0the transformative ability to work together to create vibrant and inspiring beauty beginning at the base of Charleston\u2019s upper peninsula and\u00a0radiating up the corridor.<\/p>\n
<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n\nThis project unfolds, beginning June 4-6th<\/span><\/span>\u00a0with Sergio Odeith, a well-known Portugese painter and muralist based in Lisbon\u00a0who will create\u00a0his trademark 3D graffiti as the cornerstone of the installation. Odeith will be on site\u00a0installing\u00a0his work \u2013\u00a0stop by and see him in action! In the two weeks following Odeith\u2019s work, local artists will riff on his creation\u00a0to finalize their own pieces to be installed for the celebration on\u00a0June 20th:<\/span><\/span>\u00a0AWAKENING III: \u00a0SOLSTICE. The remaining wall space, on each side of Odeith\u2019s corner installation, will showcase the work of local artists for an illumination\u00a0transformation of this space. The wall will serve as a backdrop for additional performance art and installations to further activate and transform the lot\u00a0on Huger Street.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
