This means that women essentially stop getting paid on October 8. The national average is a gap of 18%.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It&#8217;s not a Southern thing, though; our neighboring states were graded much better. The worst wage gap was in Wyoming with 35%.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The smallest? Vermont with 9%. So even in a state with the &#8220;best&#8221; wage gap ratio&#8230;.it&#8217;s still 9%<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Industries with the worst wage gaps?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Legal occupations (women earn 45% less than men)<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Medical scientists (35% less)<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Financial managers (34% less)<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">First-line supervisors of housekeeping and janitorial workers (34% less)<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Cred counselors and loan officers (32%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Best?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Office and administrative support workers (5% more)<\/li>\n<li>Bus drivers (2% more)<\/li>\n<li>Wholesale and retail buyer (2% more)<\/li>\n<li>Fast food and counter workers (2% more)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Wow.
