During\u00a0the school year, students and teachers\u00a0cultivate and transplant Spartina alterniflora, or\u00a0smooth cord grass, the dominant plant in South\u00a0Carolina salt marshes. Through this restoration\u00a0program, students and teachers learn about the\u00a0importance of the salt marsh ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>To participate in the S2S program during the\u00a02015-2016 school year, please register to attend\u00a0the teacher training that will be held June 24th in\u00a0Charleston, SC.
