The Sustainability Institute<\/a>\u00a0is currently recruiting young people for our AmeriCorps program,\u00a0the\u00a0Environmental Conservation Corps<\/a>!\u00a0 This is an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to learn conservation skills or obtain a career in conservation. As climate change continues to profoundly impact our local community, we need more and more young climate rockstars protecting the places we love!<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Environmental Conservation Corps is now recruiting several AmeriCorps positions for its award-winning service-learning program.\u00a0 We are specifically seeking young adults (ages 17-24) that are interested in joining a full-time\u00a0but limited-duration<\/em>\u00a0program to learn in-demand environmental conservation skills and at the same time serve their community.<\/p>\n

AmeriCorps members will participate in exciting hands-on experiences such as protecting and restoring wetlands, rebuilding oyster reefs, constructing trails in national wildlife refuges and local parks, working in urban gardens, constructing rain gardens, and retrofitting houses with energy and water conservation measures… all while earning industry recognized certifications. They will get to experience some of the most beautiful, most scenic and environmentally-sensitive parts of the Lowcountry coastal region.<\/p>\n

As a workforce readiness program, AmeriCorps members will also participate in \u201csoft-skills\u201d training such as resume-writing, interviewing, financial literacy, cooking workshops, and leadership skill development.<\/p>\n
