Currently parking at Lowcountry beaches is exhausted by noon on summer weekends. Life at the beach is rendered miserable by hours of angry gridlock. Parking in private lots can cost $20 or more a day. Congestion creates serious public safety hazards for beach communities where police, fire and EMS services can\u2019t reach emergencies. Our beaches are inaccessible to people who don\u2019t drive, including thousands of resort workers who struggle to find rides or walk for miles to mainland bus stops.
