For the first year ever, Charleston will be hosting its own event! It&#8217;s Electric! is locally organized by Lowcountry Electric Vehicles and GreenBy3, with help from countless others, and is Nationally sponsored by Nissan Leaf, Plug-in America, the Electric Auto Association and Sierra Club.An &#8220;EV tailgate&#8221; will be the main attraction of the event. Local EV owners and EV dealerships are coming together to show-off their cars to the public and offer test drives. That\u2019s right, attendees will get the chance to test drive different EV models from manufacturers like Nissan,Tesla, BMW, Chevy and Ford. Here is you<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">r chance to ask real, local owners about their personal experiences with EVs \u2013 from affordability and maintenance to performance and style.<\/span>Also featured at the event: information and vendor booths representing a variety of related local businesses (e.g., solar panel experts and EV charge station installers) who can provide more information on making the switch to a \u201cgreener\u201d lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>And because no event is complete without some good eats, we will have some of Charleston\u2019s favorite food trucks serving up a variety of delicious cuisine.<\/p>\n<p>This event is FREE and will take place at The Refinery space at 1600 Meeting Street, where there are cool neighbors and plenty of parking.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a local EV owner interested in bringing a car to the event, or if you\u2019d like to volunteer at the event, please register using the ticket link on this page.
