The Charleston Police Fund is sponsoring this project in an effort to involve all walks of people in the Charleston&#8217;s communities.<\/p>\n<p>WHY GET INVOLVED?<\/p>\n<p>We all want and benefit from a respectful relationship between the police and the communities they serve.  We are seeking your voice to help create a plan that will help insure greater teamwork and the long-term success of our communities.<\/p>\n<p>HOW DO YOU PARTICIPATE?<\/p>\n<p>Starting in early March, the Charleston Illumination Project is conducting many Listening Sessions, they will last just over an hour and a half.  We are looking for your hopes, concerns and plans to build open and long-lasting relationships between the police and the citizens they serve.  Open to the public, these events will be held in the late afternoon and early evening over a period of three months in order to meet a variety of schedules.<\/p>\n<p>Attendance at these events is limited by the size of the venue, so please sign up early to reserve the time that works best for you.<\/p>\n<p>NEED MORE INFORMATION?<\/p>\n<p>This is an important project with the full support of Mayor Tecklenburg; three city council members and many business\/community leaders serve on the planning committee.
