George has been a force in Detroit\u2019s art scene for more than three decades.\u00a0The N\u2019Namdi Center<\/a> campus is located in the Sugar Hill Arts District and is a catalyst for social change in Detroit\u2019s creative class. The campus houses the N\u2019Namdi Center art space, SEVA<\/a> restaurant, The Black Box, a wine bar, retail space, a performing arts theater, and an outdoor patio area.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Center showcases national artists and provides emerging local artists with a home for their art. The Center also offers an array of programming including public dialogues, juried shows, lectures, art invitationals, family events, and an Artist-In-Residence program. In addition to the exhibitions on view in the galleries, the N\u2019Namdi Center offers a variety of programs designed to promote understanding, appreciation and knowledge of the arts and culture.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, May 5 @ 5:30pm, George will host a lecture entitled, \u201d ROOTS: Lessons From Detroit\u201d at the Greater Refuge Temple Church Fellowship Hall (230 Huger St.). The presentation will address complicated issues around gentrification and belonging, and George will share his insight about art as a tool for inclusivity.<\/p>\n
