CharlestonGood is partnering with MUSC Urban Farm and Project Okurase\u00a0to develop an\u00a0organic food garden in Ghana, West Africa.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0January, our own Carmen Ketron from MUSC Urban Farm, along with student volunteers from\u00a0Miami Valley School in Ohio, will travel to the\u00a0village of Okurase in Ghana, West Africa.<\/p>\n

Together, they will\u00a0re-create the MUSC urban farm as a sister organic food, education, and vocational garden for the Okurase community.<\/p>\n

Once built, the Okurase Organic Garden will provide fresh vegetables and improve nutrition and food security dramatically\u00a0The garden will also include\u00a0a playground and play areas\u00a0for children who currently lack both.<\/p>\n

Together, we can make a huge and lasting impact in a place that is near and dear to many of us.<\/p>\n
