World Soil Day (WSD) raises awareness on their critical importance of soil\u00a0in all of\u00a0our lives.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

December 5 is WORLD SOIL DAY.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We’re celebrating this global event by reaching out to our local community to ask for help nurturing Okurase, our sister village in Ghana.<\/p>\n

Project Okurase<\/a>, a local nonprofit,\u00a0gives us all the opportunity to express our gratitude for the relative abundance within our community by\u00a0replicating one of our amazing resources, MUSC URBAN FARM<\/a>, in a community that desperately needs access to healthier food.<\/p>\n

In January, MUSC Urban Farm educator, Carmen Ketron, will travel with volunteers and supplies from around the country to build organic garden beds, and a new playground,\u00a0for the\u00a0children of Okurase.<\/p>\n

Please consider donating to our collaborative Seed Money campaign<\/a>. We have already won a free $400 prize for\u00a0the rapid start to our campaign, and we are currently in 6th place in a competition for additional free funds. Every little bit helps. Really.<\/p>\n
