Turn Up! Cool Down!<\/b> is the slogan for Sweet Freedom, a shaved ice business started by a group of middle school students participating in a Corpus Callosum program through a partnership with Metanoia\u2019s summer Biz Camp. <\/p>\n

This Friday, July 18th, at the Charleston City Market from 6:30-8pm, a group of students from Metanoia\u2019s Biz Camp will complete their project with Corpus Callosum, a non profit organization that helps students apply what they are learning in school through principles of entrepreneurship. <\/b><\/p>\n
For the past few weeks, the students have been working with teachers and community experts brought in by Corpus Callosum to help the students develop a shaved ice business. They created a company profile, designed the company name and logo, developed unique syrup flavors, worked on a budget, and learned how to market and sell their product, all with the help of local experts. And no one should miss their custom syrup flavors Green Tango, Purple Rush, and Mystic Blue. <\/p>\n
All the students\u2019 hard work culminates on Friday with a sale at the Charleston Arts Market. The students recently reflected that they learned how to start a business, but they also learned how much math and science are used in business and how to work better with other people. They shared that this experience will be useful to them when they go back to school this fall. That\u2019s what it\u2019s all about!<\/p>\n
