The stark boundaries\u2014rich vs. poor, black and brown vs. white\u2014begin to break down as people share parks, trails, libraries, nature centers and other gathering places.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Philadephia\u2019s Civic Commons campaign began as a partnership among two foundations\u2014William Penn and Knight\u2014working with non-profit organizations, city staff and citizens to improve public assets like parks and libraries.
