Have you wondered how sustainable reform in the criminal justice system happens? Do you want to help to make it better in healthy and constructive ways? This conference will enhance your understanding of the criminal justice system in our community and provide ways to help make it better.<\/p>\n<p>All community members, faith-based groups, and criminal justice professionals are welcome. Together, we will discuss, learn, and contribute towards making our local criminal justice system the best one in the country. Participants will be engaged in rich discussion throughout the day to look back in time, at the present national and local status, and towards the future of our criminal justice system. Participants will also have opportunities to take specific and concrete actions to help bring about the desired future.<\/p>\n<p>Topics include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Faith-based communities and the Criminal Justice System<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Local and statewide perspectives on current justice system strengths and areas for improvement<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Matters of pretrial justice that align with legal foundations and best practices<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Addressing the needs of those living with mental illness, addiction, and\/or homelessness<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Proven practices to reduce re-offending in high risk populations<\/p>\n<p>Speakers include community members as well as leadership from the criminal justice system and diverse faiths. The format will be multimedia panel discussions and interactive group discussions. Many organizations actively serving those involved in the criminal justice system will also be exhibiting at this conference.
