The Saul Alexander Gallery at the Main Branch of the Charleston County Public Library is starting off 2018 with some new changes and a slew of new exhibitors.<\/p>\n

Imprints of Shadows<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A collection of linoleum block prints inspired by the overlapping and ever-changing landscapes of city and rural life. These pieces are a view of the ebb and flow of nature and development in a modern world. The designs accentuate the graphic nature in block printing\u2019s potential for boldness using flattened patterns, linework, and hard edges.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Al<\/span><\/span>l<\/span><\/span>ison’s\u00a0<\/span><\/span>First\u00a0Monday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Gallery Night\u00a0<\/span><\/span>opening reception will be held on\u00a0<\/span><\/span>February 5 from 6-7p.m.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

We will be hosting a First\u00a0Monday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Gallery Night every month, which will serve as an opening reception for each new artist. Please help us spread the word about this! As one of the few free public art spaces in Charleston, we would like to make our gallery a more vital component of the downtown arts scene.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We have extended our open submission period from February through September in hopes of receiving a more diverse array of art from folks in our community.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
