From our friends at The Hope Summit…
The Hope Summit 2023 is quickly approaching! This includes a FREE conference at the College of Charleston that focuses on multidisciplinary and intersectional ideas and solutions including water quality, plastic pollution, stewardship and citizen science, governance, ecological restoration, resilience and adaptation, storytelling as a catalyst of change, environmental justice, and traditional ways of experiencing and managing terrestrial and marine ecosystems.
Here is some information about the conference portion of the summit taking place on September 30th. The Conference is where solutions, creators and accelerators exchange knowledge, experience, and best practices to strengthen community-driven solutions in the South Carolina Lowcountry and around the world.
The conference is FREE to all attendees and will be held at 202 Calhoun Street Charleston, SC. Morning refreshments will be available starting at 8:30am in the Atrium followed by welcome and opening remarks at 8:45 at the Mainstage (Room 129).
There are several avenues of participation during this conference. The Mainstage will have several presentations on various topics, such as “Building a community of Stewards Through Citizens Science” and “Young Voices for Change”, just to name a few. There will also be Breakout Rooms (Room 138) consisting of short talks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, each around 2 hours long. In the Atrium there will be Mentor Block Sessions available throughout the day starting at 10am until 2pm, each session is an hour long and registration for these opportunities will be available at the sign-in table at the conference. The day will wrap up with a keynote speaker at 4pm and closing remarks from 4:30-4:45pm. The full schedule is attached.
This is an amazing opportunity to network and hear new ideas and discuss ideas of your own with professionals or other passionate individuals who share the same goal of inspiring action and hope through community-driven solutions.
