Inspired by the herbal shops and beauty stores she’d visited on a trip to California, local Holly Thorpe founded Wildcraft, a low-waste beauty boutique, in 2015. Thorpe, who previously worked as an art director at the College of Charleston, took the plunge when a storefront opened in West Ashley’s South Windermere Center. “Anything you need to take care of yourself or your home, we’ve got it in a really clean, nontoxic way,” she says. “We won’t carry a product unless we personally love it and trust how the producer is sourcing materials.”
