Nature has always been fascinating to me whether it was the Appalachian mountains or tiny ants heading home – I was mesmerized. Reflecting back, I can remember being in the 2nd grade with my friends and talking to our teacher about the trees being taken down for a new playground. Even as a child, I found conservation important I just didn’t know it yet. This immense appreciation for Earth followed me along as a young adult. In high school, I’d bring my recyclables to a teacher who brought their recycling home so I knew it would end up in the right place.
