Explore South Fenwick Island
Friday, November 19th, 10:00am-2:00pm
South Fenwick Island is located several miles from the Atlantic Ocean in the heart of the ACE Basin, one of the largest undeveloped estuaries on the east coast.
We will leave from McKenzie Field Station in Bennetts Point and enjoy a boat ride down the Ashepoo River to reach our destination. Once on the island we’ll tour the property riding in an open air wagon and learn about its rich history and diverse ecosystems along the way.
Edisto Nature Trail Hike
Monday, November 22nd, 3:00pm-5:00pm
Join ACE Basin staff on a leisurely hike down the Edisto Nature Trail, one of the early protected areas of the ACE Basin. This 1.5 mile trail leads to a dock overlooking the Edisto River – that’s the E in ACE! Along the way we’ll explore the lowcountry forest and swamps and discuss history of the area and the wildlife that lives there.
Stay tuned for more in-person programs and webinars throughout the year!
