Iran is controlled by one of the cruelest, most despicable leaderships in the world, so when the president of the United States says negotiations are happening and Iran\u2019s leadership says they are not, and most of us believe the Iranians, something is seriously wrong.<\/p>\n
Among other reasons, it means we cannot wait any longer to impeach Donald Trump. We cannot wait until Democrats (hopefully) take control of Congress in November. Trump must go now!<\/em><\/p>\n And We the People have three tools available to help us force it, if only we will use them: Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution; Rule IX of the House of Representatives; and Title 18, Chapter 115, Paragraph 2382 of the U.S. Code.<\/p>\n Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution says any U.S. official \u201cshall be removed from office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors.<\/p>\n The phrase \u201chigh crimes and misdemeanors\u201d refers to serious misconduct by public officials that constitutes an abuse of power or breach of public trust, and it does not have to involve a crime. It encompasses conduct that betrays public confidence, undermines government integrity, or constitutes an abuse of official power. The word \u201chigh\u201d historically signifies that the misconduct involves individuals with special duties acquired through an oath of office, distinguishing it from misdeeds by private citizens.<\/p>\n Rule IX of the House of Representatives was written to make sure the House cannot dodge its constitutional responsibilities. It allows any individual member to force a vote on impeachment without prior approval from anyone, such as the member\u2019s party caucus, a committee chair, or even the House leadership. Once a House member has invoked Rule IX, the Speaker of the House is powerless to change it or prevent a vote, and the vote must take place within two legislative days.<\/p>\n At that point, the House has two choices. It can either vote on whether to impeach the president, or whether to dispose of the resolution. A vote to dispose of the resolution is essentially a vote on whether to impeach the president, so either way the House members are forced to go on record as supporting or rejecting impeachment.<\/p>\n And U.S. Code Title 18, Chapter 115, Paragraph 2382 essentially says that anyone who knows treason has been committed and does not report it is guilty of misprision of treason and \u201cshall be\u201d (shall<\/em> be, not may<\/em> be) imprisoned for up to seven years, fined, or both. It appears that section might apply to most every Republican in Congress.<\/p>\n It\u2019s almost laughable to even ask the question of whether Trump should be impeached. He most certainly should. Following are a few of the felonies and \u201chigh crimes and misdemeanors\u201d he has committed. I have grouped them under various titles, and for the sake of space I have highly condensed them.<\/p>\n As you read through this list, remember that Trump could be impeached for any one of them, as Republicans surely would have demanded had Presidents Barack Obama or Joe Biden committed them. Trump\u2019s crimes involve:<\/p>\n Treason:<\/strong> Treason is considered one of the most severe crimes an American can commit, and conviction of treason can result in death, a minimum of five years in prison, a fine of at least $10,000, and permanent disqualification from holding any federal office. Trump has committed treason several times.<\/p>\n The Constitution stipulates that any U.S. citizen is guilty of treason who has \u201cengaged in insurrection or rebellion\u201d against the United States\u201d or \u201cgiven aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.\u201d Trump did both. He \u201cengaged in insurrection\u201d by leading the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, and he gave \u201caid or comfort to the enemies thereof\u201d by pardoning at least 13 persons who had been convicted of seditious conspiracy for their actions during that insurrection.<\/p>\n Trump committed treason again just a couple of weeks ago when he told his friends he was about to announce that the United States had been engaged in \u201cproductive conversations\u201d with Iran to end the war, knowing it would cause the Stock Market to soar and thus allowing his friends time to invest and turn quick, handsome profits. Authorities agree that giving people access to confidential information regarding national security so that they can exploit it for profit is treason. (Incidentally, Iran flatly denied any conversations were happening).<\/p>\n
