I have been asked by more than one person to write about something other than Donald Trump, but I can\u2019t. I face the dilemma that everyone faces who writes a current-events newsletter, large or small: No matter how much we write, there is always something left unsaid, much ground left uncovered.<\/p>\n
It can\u2019t be helped. All roads lead back to Trump because his demand to become our king \u2013 his word — grows stronger every day. Our democracy hangs in the balance and time is running out. A major part of his plan is to overload us, reader as well as writer, and wear us out. If we give in, we lose. Democracy loses. But if we stay aware and refuse to give in, we win. And so, today I write again about Trump and why we must, and how we can, get rid of him.<\/p>\n
But first, I understand the need to read about something other than the daily horrors that Trump brings. But getting back to Trump\u2019s house of horrors, and why we must, and can, get rid of him.<\/p>\n
Trump canceled USAID and thus caused the deaths of millions of people, including children, for no other reason than they did not live in the United States. More are dying every day. And because his \u201cbig beautiful bill\u201d will deny health care to millions of Americans, he is about to cause the deaths of perhaps millions of Americans, too. He is even taking food out of the mouths of children (SNAP), all so he can save the government enough money to give himself and his billionaires a huge tax break.<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t understand how he can live with himself; willfully causing all those deaths could be considered genocide, and taking food out of the mouths of babies could be considered cruelty to children. He has immunity from committing crimes so that won\u2019t happen. But we know he can live with himself because he does, and that should flash a bright red warning to all of us that he intends to keep on doing it. His cruelty is unlimited. Think of The Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT) , the maximum security prison\/torture chamber in El Salvador where he sends people he doesn\u2019t like, and \u201cAlligator Alcatraz\u201d, the prison-to-be that will serve his same purpose on a site in the Florida Everglades that is surrounded by alligators and pythons.<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t think many of us voted for that, and a continuing plummet in his support shows fewer and fewer of us approve of him now \u2013 the latest number I heard was a record-breaking 37%. So we\u2019ve got to get him out of office. He\u2019s already given us hundreds of reasons to impeach him, and he\u2019s not far from giving us reason under the 25th Amendment \u2013 \u201cunable to discharge the powers and duties of his office\u201d — to get rid of him.<\/p>\n
