With their 3-1 victory on Saturday night, the Battery secured 3rd place in the East for the USL playoffs. The win earned the Black & Yellow a home playoff match against rival Richmond Kickers next week.
Meanwhile, some impressive records were set on this historic night on the Battery’s home pitch.
- Dane Kelly became the leading scorer in USL history when he scored his 42nd career goal in the second half.
- The Battery stretched their unbeaten record at home to 24 straight games.
- The large crowd for the last home match of the season boosted the average home game attendance to 4.079 topping the previous record average attendance of 3,991, set in 2008

“Great result and a great match,” said Battery head coach Mike Anhaeuser. “We need to make sure we win the first playoff game, but these guys have done a tremendous job going undefeated at home all season.”
Charleston will host Richmond next Saturday night in the first round of the USL playoffs at MUSC Health Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
