“AIA Charleston is excited to announce a Design Ideas Competition in response to a desire by the City of Charleston to create a Parklet Program. The competition seeks ideas for an outdoor space with purpose, that promotes civic advocacy in design while instigating a socially cooperative and equitable design process that serves Charleston’s diverse population.
A Parklet (park·let) is a small seating area or green space created as a public amenity on or alongside a sidewalk, especially in a former roadside parking space.”
