- SC NATIVE PLANT SOCIETY seeking VOLUNTEERS:
- Outreach Tabling is one of our most powerful outreach tools – it’s where curiosity turns into connection and native plant awareness takes root. Whether you love talking about plants, enjoy meeting new people, or just want to support our mission in a meaningful way, we’d love to have you join the team! You can volunteer as often or as occasionally as your schedule allows.
- March 29: Demonstration Garden Installation Day with North Charleston’s Adopt-a-Flowerbed Program at Quarterman Park,
- VOLUNTEER at Blind Noir on March 7: Blind Noir is a blind dining experience benefiting the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, designed to raise awareness and critical funds while giving guests a brief, immersive perspective into navigating the world without sight. The event brings together community leaders, partners, and supporters for an impactful evening centered on empathy, education, and connection. Volunteers will “assist with event operations, including guest check-in, selling raffle tickets, managing coat check, and serving as bid spotters throughout the main program”
- APPLY NOW to be a GREEN HEART BUDDY: Spring 2026 Green Heart Buddy Volunteers Green Heart Buddies play an integral role in growing our gardens, our community and our students by helping to implement Green Heart lessons. They are urban farmers, teachers and mentors for our students.
- Vols needed for abused, neglected kids: The Cass Elias McCarter Guardian ad Litem Program, a division of the South Carolina Department of Children’s Advocacy is offering FREE ONLINE TRAINING to those interested in becoming a volunteer Guardian ad Litem (GAL) in Charleston County. Volunteers advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children who are involved in Family Court legal proceedings through the Department of Social Services (DSS).
- Mujeres Latinas de Carolina del Sur is a nonprofit community organization led by and for Latina women. We focus on environmental education, wildlife protection, and promoting civic engagement among under-served communities in the Charleston area. Our mission is to inspire action through community-based projects such as park and beach cleanups, educational workshops, wildlife care awareness, and support for responsible pet ownership. We are always looking for compassionate, motivated volunteers who want to protect our planet and make a positive impact in our neighborhoods.
- Help provide crucial services for adult survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones. Make a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of those affected by this traumatic experience. Your hard work and dedication will not go unnoticed as you provide crucial services such as providing emotional support, connecting survivors to resources, and advocating for their rights, all while raising awareness of the impacts of sexual assault.
- Support our most vulnerable neighbors by delivering meals and smiles. Everyday, Seniors in our community count on Meals On Wheels for nutritious food and a friendly face. This summer, you can make a real difference – whether you’re a student, a retiree, or just someone with a little time and a big heart!
