INTERVIEW: Eric Jackson on Quintin’s Close-Ups

Our friend and colleague, Eric Jackson, who has been a part of our #Goodsharing movement since its launch in 2014, wears a lot of hats in the community.

Eric is the founder of R3 Inc, a grassroots nonprofit working to “empower youth, regardless of their background, to become healthy, productive, and active members of their communities.” In addition to supporting youth, R3 Inc also operates laundry Matters, Charleston’s Eastside community laundry  which provides free laundry service to homeless individuals and hosts periodic Free Laundry Days throughout the year thanks to community supporters. In addition to his nonprofit work, Eric is also a co-founder (along with another longtime community activist, AJ Davis) of Community Solutions Consulting, a “black-owned consulting firm specializing in helping organizations, municipalities, and companies develop authentic community engagement strategies that lead to productive and collaborative relationships with those they serve.”

Eric recently sat down with Quintin for a discussion of Community Solutions Consulting’s work with the City of Charleston.
