GOOD Cause – SC Businesses Acting on Rising Seas

Our GOOD friend, Chris Carnevale of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, writes:

“A really neat new project is up and running and I want you to know about it.  SC Businesses Acting on Rising Seas is a campaign to raise awareness of the threat of sea level rise (due to climate change) to our local small-business-driven tourism economy.

The gist is simple: participating businesses mark in or on their building where the sea level might be in the year 2100 in accordance with scientific projections.  Then visitors see the marks around town and via signs are encouraged to contact Congress to take action on climate change.”

  1. Thanks for covering this! This is a wonderful campaign that highlights the imperative to protect our coast from sea level rise. The project is an initiative of the SC Small Business Chamber of Commerce. If you are a business that would like to participate, please sign up with the Chamber.
