InterSessions: The Art X Hip-Hop Dialogues™
Friday, September 9

Simons Center Recital Hall

Join us for an installment of Fahamu Pecou’s interSessions: The Art X Hip-Hop Dialogues™, a series of curated conversations between figures from the arts and the hip-hop communities. As part of Pecou’s solo exhibition entitled DO or DIE: Affect, Ritual, Resistance at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, the artist will host the conversation on September 9th featuring Killer Mike, an American hip-hop recording artist and activist, and Dr. Arturo Lindsay, an artist and scholar who conducts ethnographic research on African spiritual and aesthetic retentions in contemporary American cultures. According to Pecou, “The goal of interSessions™ is to provide a platform that reveals the often unconsidered intersections between the fine arts and hip-hop culture. These conversations privilege access and community engagement and encourage meaningful dialogue between often disparate communities.”
This event is co-sponsored by the College of Charleston’s First Year Experience Program.
Event is free and open to the public.
