Take part in a bicycle obstacle course presented by Safe Kids Trident Area, Charleston Police Department and John L. Dart Library. Learn safe biking tips, and experience interactive community exhibits inside and outside the library. Attendees must bring a bicycle to use the obstacle course, and children younger than 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Arcadia Publishing generously donated a custom bike rack in memory of Cynthia Graham Hurd, a 31-year CCPL employee who was a victim of the June 2015 Emanuel AME Church shooting. A plaque commemorating Hurd’s lifelong dedication to literacy will be unveiled during the event.
