Charleston Green Drinks : Sustainability at College of Charleston

Join College of Charleston faculty, staff and students for the next Charleston Green Drinks monthly happy hour event at the Workshop. The event will feature sustainable beer, wine and spirits and lightning talks led by Cougar students working to advance sustainability in our community on issues like waste, water, transportation, agriculture and social justice.
The speakers will include:
- Dr. Brian Fisher, Director of the Center for Sustainability
- Dr. Ashley Lavender, the Center’s Associate Director, on student programs
- Darcy Everett on climate and zero waste initiatives on campus
- Eliza Bower on our bike share program and transportation projects
- Zach Stevens on sustainability literacy and outreach
- Darien Parker on greening campus buildings and grounds
- Jordan James on sustainable seafood and combating plastic pollution
- Vanity Reid Deterville on Social Justice Coffee Hour
- Natalie Reider and Suzanna Ellison on food security-related initiatives
Workshop reps will pour sustainable beer, wine and spirits, and guests are welcome to one of four local restaurant pop-ups.
Following remarks, local artists and musicians will drop-in during an Open Mic session outdoors.
