The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is issuing a call for nominees for the 2013 Spare the Air Awards. This is your opportunity to give recognition to an innovator, environmental leader or peer who continually goes above and beyond the call of duty to protect the environment and improve air quality in South Carolina.
Please support these efforts by submitting a nomination. All nominations packets must be received by the close of business on September 30, 2013. October 4, 2013. Incomplete or late entries will not be considered. So don’t delay! Nominate someone today!
Who is Eligible?
Any South Carolina organization, company, community group, facility, school, local government or individual that has demonstrated a commitment to voluntary air quality improvement activities is eligible. Voluntary activities to improve air quality may include but are NOT limited to: outreach efforts, policy changes, energy conservation, implementation of existing air quality improvement programs, creation of air quality emission reduction strategies, and other activities that encourage positive behavioral changes to improve air quality in South Carolina.
All previous winners are eligible to reapply. However, projects must include a detailed description of how the program has been expanded or improved from the previous year.
