The Lowcountry Herald is a new STREET PAPER magazine operating in North Charleston. Street papers are independent newspapers and magazines that utilize a social enterprise and self-help model to provide an innovative solution to urban homelessness and unemployment.
The magazine will be sold by homeless vendors who will profit from every edition sold. This is an empowering solution that benefits vendors as well the broader Charleston community.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
There are a lot of ways you can support this new nonprofit magazine which is our GOOD Cause of the Month. They are looking for
- advertisers
- donors
- and North Charleston business owners and organizations willing to provide space for vendors to sell their magazines
They are also actively recruiting vendors so please help spread the word about this opportunity.

Lowcountry Herald needs independent workers to sell our magazine and keep a profit.
Work your own hours, be your own boss, quit anytime.
We publish our magazine monthly, sell it to you for $1 and you sell it on the street for $3 and keep the profit. We give you the first 10 for free (so there’s no upfront money required on your part) after you complete a Vendor Orientation Class.
So how does it work?
- Attend a Vendor Orientation Class (see below for details)
- Get your first 10 magazines FREE
- Start selling them on the street
- Buy more magazines, sell them and make more money

Classes are offered at these locations; you only need to attend one class.
