Time to Step Up in Support of Our Libraries!

In 2011, over a 6 month period of time, Charleston residents were asked what they wanted in their library system. The library listened and in November 2014 Charleston County voters will have the opportunity to make their voices heard.
The Charleston County Library System is asking voters to approve a referendum on November 4 to construct 5 new libraries and renovate 13 branches. These improvements will provide more technology, more children’s space, teen rooms, more meeting rooms and more access to the programs, media and materials.
The Vote Yes For Charleston County Library Committee can use your help to deliver the message to voters.  Currently we have information booths confirmed for
  • Charleston Farm Market
  • North Charleston Farm Market
  • Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market
  • North Charleston Harvest Festival
  • Earth Fare
  • The Big Book Sale
  • Mt. Pleasant Children’s Day Festival

The tables will provide brochures and volunteers will be there to answer any specific questions our neighbors might have.
The Referendum provides so many benefits to so many groups that a training session is required.  It is only one hour, but helps all our advocates understand the many programs currently offered by the Library system and those being added.
