Please plan to join us for some “serious fun” featuring live performances by a singer-songwriter, poet, & professional storyteller as well as art exhibits, pet therapy dogs, creative & fun hands-on activities & games, food trucks & more. So, you probably have a good sense of “living fully,” but what is “dying well” you might ask? Well, while it may sound surprising, it is a gift – one that you give yourself and those you love.
The basics are simple – reflecting on your values, wishes & fears, talking with family & friends, getting things in order, and grieving fully in ways that honor the memories of those who’ve died. And here’s the best part, learning about dying well is really about making time to live fully – it’s about focusing our “one wild & precious life” on what matters most in whatever phase of life you may find yourself.
We know that the arts are a wonderful, safe, even fun, way to approach what can be difficult topics. So, this festival is for everyone – whether 25 or 45 or 75; whether you are a healthcare professional or a family caregiver; whether planning way ahead or in need of some timely support. This unique festival includes:
Performances by: Beth Nielsen Chapman– award winning singer-songwriter, Marcus Amaker– Charleston’s Poet Laureate, and Regi Carpenter– Professional Storyteller
