** The Environmental Conservation Corps is a program affiliated with AmeriCorps and the Corps Network’s Opportunity Youth Service Initiative, designed to provide education and conservation service experience to young people experiencing barriers (e.g. poverty, unemployment, past court involvement). **
Build a career as a conservation leader! The ECC recruits youth to serve the Lowcountry by expanding food access and completing environmental conservation projects through skill-building and hands-on experience (e.g. build gardens, restore wildlife habitats, repair homes for energy efficiency).

Overview:
- Core program prepares participants for workforce placement through classroom and in-field training opportunities and service activities.
- Start Date: TBD (to be confirmed based on invitation to interview)
- –> Please note: The actual date of completion is based on the completion date of the Program’s requirements, including length of contract, and is therefore participant-specific.
- The Program meets Monday-Friday 9 am-4 pm with some additional opportunities outside this period for further development.

Eligibility:
- No prior experience is necessary.
- Ages 17 – 24
- All race and gender identities are welcome to apply.
- Persons with a part-time job, no current employment, and part-time students
- High school diploma or on track to earn GED
- Persons with criminal backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Please note: Persons convicted of murder or sexual offenses are not eligible as per AmeriCorps guidelines.
- Each participant will be required to produce a negative COVID-19 test result prior to Orientation.
- Reliable transportation to and from The Sustainability Institute is required for participation.

- Full-time Crew Leader (1700 hours; 1 year agreement)
- Part-time Crew Member (900 hours; 6 month agreement)
- Quarter-time Crew Member (450 hours; 3-4 month agreement)
