Strategic Action Conference: Confronting the Choices for Charleston’s Children
The Quality Education Project (QEP) is co-hosting a conference with the EdFirstSC and Cradle to Career, “Confronting the Choices for Charleston’s Children” to address the crisis in the Charleston area regarding quality education and justice afforded to all children. This crisis is not only REAL, but lately it has also gained more public attention from a variety of different groups and individuals than in many, many years. QEP calls upon you to join us in building upon this resolve for substantive change in our thinking about public education by participating in this forum on educational reform.
While differences exist in how progress can be made, there are some common thoughts being expressed about fundamental principles any transformations should embody, such as addressing the systemic failure of schools to meet the needs of all students. QEP seeks to continue public dialogue and problem solving based upon actions and ideals that are a) moral; b) legitimized by those directly affected by what goes on in our schools; c) research-based; and d) fiscally responsible.
