Call for Artists to Complete Survey on Affordable Live/ Work Space Needs
September 7, 2016 (CHARLESTON, SC) The Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation as invited Artspace, the nation’s leading non-profit developers for the arts, to administer an online survey to further assess the potential success of an affordable multi-use facility in the Charleston region beginning September 14, 2016. The survey may be found at chsartspacesurvey.com.
This is the second step in a feasibility process which began with a visit by Artspace in February 2016. The survey will provide Artspace with anonymous statistical information including: artist housing needs, affordability ranges, artist studio-only needs, location preferences, design requirements based on household sizes and arts disciplines, and arts organization space needs.
The survey will be available online from September 14, 2016 to November 14, 2016. All artists, arts organization administrators, and creative business owners of all disciplines are encouraged to complete the survey regardless of their personal needs or interest in the project.
The public is invited to attend a survey launch event on September 14, 2016 at 6pm at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, 161 Calhoun Street, Charleston. Artspace consultants will present their findings from the feasibility study and give details on the market survey. Participants will also have the opportunity to complete the survey onsite.
