The Colour Of Music Festival is coming October 19-23, 2016
The Colour of Music Festival offers a musical kaleidoscope highlighting the impact and historical significance of black classical composers and performers on American and world culture. The annual Colour of Music Festival will take at various venues throughout historic Charleston, South Carolina.
But Colour of Music is also about community education and engagement, especially for our youth.
Serving a culture that embraces and encourages arts and creativity, the Colour of Music Festival Orchestra’s education mission is to:
• Deliver lifelong learning experiences to people of all ages with emphasis on works composed by black composers
• Enrich lives and stimulate creative minds in a variety of programs and formats
• Create unique moments of relevance in people’s lives
Education and Community Engagement programs that generate passion for orchestral music by black composers are at the core of the Colour of Music Festival Orchestra’s service to the Charleston metro area and beyond.

• Historical Measures: A 300-year Musical Timeline of Black Composers
• Rhythm Around the World
• Celebrate Multiculturalism in American Orchestras
