Conservation Voters of South Carolina (CVSC) will be hosting a number of upcoming events “with the purpose of showing how conservation isn’t simply a cause of the ‘white and well-off’ – highlighting the sometimes overlooked contributions, organizations, and issues that are important parts of what conservation and environmentalism is all about.”
The first event is a screening of An American Ascent, on Feb. 11th @ 6 PM.
“This documentary follows a group of nine mountaineers attempting to become the first all-African-American team to climb Mount Denali, North America’s highest peak, on the 100th anniversary of its first summit. This screening will be followed by a discussion about outdoor recreation, ‘the adventure gap’, and land conservation.”
