We recently received an inspiring note from a local artist doing purposeful work and we couldn’t wait to tell you about her exhibit!
Deanne Bower describes her work way better than we could…
“Each piece in the exhibit is made from almost 100% recycled, reclaimed and salvaged materials I have collected from the streets and beaches of Charleston. My creative purpose is all about reducing our waste, helping to keep unwanted things out of our landfills and waterways, repurposing items to uplift others and celebrating recycling as an art form. As Charleston gets more developed, the amount of trash grows too! If I can encourage others to be creative with their trash output and keep the streets of Charleston cleaner, that would be a satisfying accomplishment!”
