Come to the Boone Hall Plantation for some amazing food, great entertainment and 80,000 pounds of oysters! This annual festival is one of the largest oyster roasts in the world and attracts people from all over the Southeast. If you’re not a fan of oysters, don’t worry, nine local restaurants and four food trucks will be selling a variety of tasty dishes.
In addition to delicious food there will also be contests, activities for kids and live music from Charleston’s up and coming rock sensation the Dead 27s.
This family friendly event is a great way to experience the lowcountry’s culinary culture, while giving back to the community. The Lowcountry Oyster Festival hosted by The Greater Charleston Restaurant Association raises funds for several local charities:
- The Ronald McDonald House
- Hospitality Heroes
- Hollings Cancer Center
- Shriners Hospitals for Children
- Charleston County Schools Science Materials Resource Center
