After over a year of once-a-month gatherings, we hosted two #GOODHARING GATHERINGS in August and that really made it possible for a lot more folks to participate.So we’re holding two meetings in September as well!

SUPPORT THE RAPID TRANSIT REFERENDUM
Please join our campaign to make better public transit possible by construction of a Bus Rapid Transit Line, replacing obsolete buses and upgrading stops and increasing the scale and quality of our area’s regular bus transit services.
Nearly 40 African-American authors and hundreds of book club members and readers will converge at Burke High School for the 1st annual Black Ink: The Charleston African American Book Festival on September 17, 2016. The event is from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and will feature a keynote address from Marcus Amaker, Charleston’s first poet laureate.
Galvanized by the Emanuel AME tragedy in Charleston, Gun Sense SC was formed by an independent, grassroots group of South Carolinians working to reduce gun violence, while supporting the Second Amendment right of citizens to lawfully own guns.
Beyond B.A.S.I.C. assists special needs adults in becoming contributing members of society, by providing a program that fosters independent living skills beyond the basics. ALL volunteers welcome. No experience needed.
The Without Walls division of the Charleston JCC is geared toward all people in Charleston who identify as Jewish and/or those who wish to be involved with the Charleston Jewish community. COMMUNITY BUILDINGS AVAILABLE FOR PROGRAMS
Our fabulous parks and recreation department is looking for people and organizations to host educational programs in their under-utilized playground buildings.
Here is a great (compensated) opportunity for caregivers who provide support for loved ones with chronic conditions.
Participate in our feedback group at the College of Charleston on Friday, September 16th at 11am. The purpose of the group is to get feedback on the products and services CCA will provide in support of these caregivers.
