CharlestonGood is partnering with MUSC Urban Farm and Project Okurase to develop an organic food garden in Ghana, West Africa.
In January, our own Carmen Ketron from MUSC Urban Farm, along with student volunteers from Miami Valley School in Ohio, will travel to the village of Okurase in Ghana, West Africa.
Together, they will re-create the MUSC urban farm as a sister organic food, education, and vocational garden for the Okurase community.
Once built, the Okurase Organic Garden will provide fresh vegetables and improve nutrition and food security dramatically The garden will also include a playground and play areas for children who currently lack both.
Together, we can make a huge and lasting impact in a place that is near and dear to many of us.
