WAKE UP: Opioid and Heroin Crisis

A heroin and opioid overdose epidemic has swept the United States in the past several years. South Carolina, like other states, has been overwhelmed with unsettling tragedies of lives full of possibility cut unexpectedly short. Some areas of the Palmetto State are as high as 200% above the national average for heroin and opioid-related deaths. The problem has grown particularly acute, especially among young people.

Please join us for one of our next Ideas Into Action events to learn from local nonprofit, WAKE UP CAROLINA, and expert panelists on what we can do as a community to take away the stigma of substance use disorder and—how to start the conversation and feel empowered to make a difference!
