In its current offering, The Local Pulse is an online platform promoting grass roots events and community in the Charleston area. We will highlight different local organizations daily and update their events to our calendar. Calendar events will follow the guidelines of enriching the community with activities and opportunities for all walks of life. The common interest event categories will be listed as events involving: Nature, Heritage, Community/Family, Music and Health.

In the future, we will take our Local events platform and ground it into an actual solution space = a Community and Cultural Center. The depth of culture and heritage in Charleston’s back yard of Johns Island, is so rich and rare that our hosting grounds will be located in this special place. Working in coordination with Preserve the Gullah, Lowcountry Local First and many more, we are creating a Nature Park & Community Cultural Center on Johns Island. This is where the Charleston country meets the city. The center seeks to attract and welcome diverse groups of people within the Johns Island community and the Greater Charleston area by sustainably offering a range of activities for people of all ages and ethnicities. There will be a focus on activities that unite community, including music, heritage, health, after school & summer programming and the outdoors. The 26 acres of natural rural Lowcountry landscape, which will function as park and preserve, is in the center of Maybank Hwy. This process is in it’s development and has an extensive team. It is being built to offer solutions to the community to address the needs of urban sprawl, cultural preservation, circular economy and the enrichment of the whole.
