College of Charleston’s Sustainability Week 2016: The Value of Us
April 4th- 9th, 2016

Join the College of Charleston (CofC) in celebrating their 5th annual Sustainability Week hosted by the College’s Office of Sustainability.

This year, the focus will be on The Value of Us.

Events are free and open to the public.

Here is just a a few of the many events happening this week.

Farmers Market & Pop Up Restaurant

George Street
A collaboration with Lowcountry Street Grocery and CofC Dining Service featuring free tastes made from locally sourced ingredients and opportunities to purchase local produce.

Keynote Presentation: Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation
Monday, 4/4
4pm
Stern Center Ballroom
Currently Chair of the Gullah/Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor General Management Plan, Queen Quet will discuss the importance of sharing our history as cultural preservation.

Thursday, 4/7

Towell Library
How can we sustain a community if we don’t understand the needs and desires of the people? Performers will share their perspectives through the art of unspoken word.
