“Tiny House Project Charleston” Offers Inspiring Proposal In Support of the Unsheltered

CharlestonGOOD is partnering with Tiny House Project Charleston in support of their efforts to develop housing alternatives for Charleston’s “un-sheltered” homeless population. We hope others will be inspired to participate and support this project as well.

ABOUT “TINY HOUSE PROJECT CHARLESTON”

Like so much of America, metropolitan Charleston has been hit hard by the economic storm that crashed in on us in 2008, and really hasn’t left us. In no sector is the devastation so dramatic as in the homeless community.

Some of the folks involved with Occupy Charleston have launched Tiny House Project Charleston which intends to develop small, self-governing communities of tiny houses where residents could enjoy safe shelter as well as additional shared resources that would better help them get back on their feet.

Organizers of the project have drafted a detailed proposal as a starting point.
